VIZIO XVT3D650SV 65-Inch Theater 3D Edge Lit Razor LED LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Apps, Black

I read all the reviews before purchasing this tv. The thing that sold me was the polarized glasses, The whole reason I wouldnt buy one of the older models is the glasses cost as much or more than the tv!! I thought why cant they make a tv that uses the inexpensive polarized glasses you wear in the theaters? Instead of the expensive heavy battery powered shutter glasses. Well they finally did and the 3d is as good as it is in the theater!!! I am thoroughly impresses with this set!!!!!! The 3-D is awesome and the H-D is as good as it gets. Proir to purchasing this tv I teathered my i-pad to my tv for netflix. Not anymore this tv is wifi ready and has the netflix app built righ in. Technology is awesome!! My cable company only has 2 3d channels so far, one is their own channel with a bunch of movies full of 3d eye candy, and the other is espn-3d which is awesome!! I hate watching basketball but it was so cool in 3d I actually sat through a game!! Football was mind blowing too!!(I cant wait for 3d hockey!!!!) They replayed the winter x games and it was CRAZY!!! I'm looking forward to when my cable provider adds more live 3d channels!! The bottom line is this tv is friggin awesome it will not dissapoint!!!!! If my 5 year old breaks a pair of glasses it wont be the end of the world they are only a few bucks to replace. I actually had 5 pair left from when the family went to the movies to see alice in wonderland so with the 4 pair that come with the TV I now have 9 pair and that is…

LG Infinia 55LW6500 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV and Four Pairs of 3D Glasses

Last January I had a dilemma. I wanted to upgrade an old 40" Samsung 720P LCD tv but I couldn't decide whether or not to purchase a 3D tv since the technology was so new. I decided to play it safe and ended up purchasing a Samsung 55B8500 in February 2010. That particular LED model was the last one to have local dimming backlight, not edge lit. I must say, I'm still beyond happy with my decision because that tv is nearly flawless and 3D technology has certainly improved.Anyways, a year passed and I felt that it was time to purchase a 3D tv. This time to replace my old 40" Samsung that was now in my bedroom. I researched online and went to multiple stores comparing brands, sizes and the difference between active and passive 3D. I must've spent a good 2 months before finally choosing this LG model. I love Samsung and had originally wanted the new UN55D8000 model with the slim bezel but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. Plus, after a while I had come to like passive 3D more than active mainly because I wouldn't have to deal with charging the glasses or replacing them(expensive) if they broke. So the main reason I bought this model was for the 3D which I must say is nice. It's not as crisp a picture as active shutter but it's nonetheless clear. Passive 3D only delivers 540 lines to each eye hence halving the 1080p resolution but in all honesty, the picture still looks like it's in HD. The tv delivers great 3D depth and that's what it's all about. One negative…

LG 55LX6500 55-Inch 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED Plus LCD HDTV, Espresso

After reading the first review I thought I needed to put in my 2 cents worth. I bought a package which included the TV, LG580 3D blu-ray player and a couple of pairs of glasses from Vanns since at the time they had the lower price. I have found this TV to be astounding in every way possible. It has a low refeclection screen which was important to me because my room can get very bright. You have to turn on the 240HZ mode which could explain the blur in the first review because I have none. The picture is absolutly beautiful and my old DVD's played are so clear it's like watching a soap opera. The sound isn't bad from the TV but I have it hooked up to a digital receiver that is connected with optical cables so the sound is outstanding. I am streaming movies through the DVD player from Netflix and the picture is incredible. This may be do to the upgrade to HD or the fact that it is done through the DVD player and not the TV. The cables need tyo be upgraded from 3a to 4a or b because of the infomation they need to carry. I bought mine at amazon at abouut $20 per cable and their delivery is flawless. Now I have a 32" old Old HD tv in the bedroom and the difference is like night and day' I have had the TV for about a month so this is an early review but I enen enjoyed watching my Patroits lose to the Jets on it! Oh, I forgot to mention the LED part. This TV is about an inch thin so it doesn't look like the 300 Lb monster I removed from the living room. led I believe makes the…

LG 47LX6500 47-Inch 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED Plus LCD HDTV, Espresso

While there is a lot to like about this TV (and why I still rated it 3-stars [CHANGED TO 5-STARS! See update #3]), I will choose to focus my review on what I feel is (was) the only real issue with it.(You can go read the other reviews to hear about how nice the image quality is, how thin the TV is, how well the DLNA works, how polished the menu system feels, and whatever people might think about the various apps.)The reason I chose an LCD over a Plasma comes down to the 120/240 Hz smoothing. (Colors, black-level, and input lag [mainly for gaming] weren't high on my list of considerations.)======================================IF YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WHOLE "LCD VS. PLASMA" THING AND JUST WANT TO READ MY THOUGHTS ON THIS SPECIFIC TV, SKIP THIS SECTION.======================================Yes, I know plasmas refresh at 600 Hz, but it seems the manufacturers of those TVs have chosen to focus on delivering the 24/30/60 Hz source material as true to the original as possible. As such, you get your 60 Hz television feed as 60 discrete images shown to you over the course of a second. (Ok, I know it's like 59.6245 Hz, but we're going to go with 60). I do not like way that looks. That's not how the world looks and that's not how CRTs generally worked. And that's why I went with the LCD.With an LCD, you do get some blurring between frames, but I kind of like that. I find it more pleasant to look at than the "chunk, chunk, chunk" look of "here's a frame, here's a frame,…

Toshiba 55TL515U 55-inch Natural 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Net TV, Black

I wanted to replace move SONY LCD TV to our bedroom and get a TV for our family room. After a fair amount of research I decided on an LED, primarily due to: picture quality and energy consumption. After a fair amount of research, I realized i could get an LED TV with 3D capability. So, I did price comparisons and read about active versus passive 3D. I settled on passive and found this Toshiba model having all of the features I wanted, including Internet capability with wireless component included. After searching for a week on all sites, no one could beat the Amazon price which came with free shipping. So, I ordered it and was given a 10 day shipping timeline. This coincided with the New Year holidays, but on January 2nd, I got an e-mail from them that the TV has been shipped via Pilot with the expected arrival date of 1/10. I was not familiar with Pilot so, i started reading the reviews about Pilot and discovered a lot of negative stuff on this site about Pilot. A couple of days went by and I kept watching the tracking system, the TV was en-route. On Thursday January 5th at 10:00 a.m. I received a call from someone what said he had my TV and was in the neighborhood and could deliver the TV that day. This was a company that Pilot uses in Michigan to make the delivery. So, I called them back and asked them to deliver it after 3:00 p.m. They transferred my call to the driver and he said ok. He showed up at 3:15 p.m. So, for those who are concerned about Pilot, I had no problem,…

LG Infinia 65LW6500 65-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV and Four Pairs of 3D Glasses

So, I have the 65lw6500 I got from here. Delivered no problem in one week. It replaced an LG 55LH90.Here are my thoughts after a few days with it in no particular order. By the way, a little background on me....used to be REALLY into home theater, then I got married, so now I just enjoy it. I'm happy with the 80% solution. I have excellent vision and don't get motion sick or anything else like that. I do not like active shutter at all. It just irritates me, and the dimming and flickering I see when I move my head is a total deal breaker. YMMVAnyway:-it's freaking heavy. Also, it just seems huge compared to my 55". FYI, I sit about 10 feet.-2d is very good. Surprisingly even good on SD content from Dish Network and older stuff on Netflix. Completely watchable.- 3d is fantastic. Tangled is WOW! Of course, good source material makes a world of difference. Green Hornet added nothing in 3d, whereas Tangled was actually a more enjoyable movie in 3d. It was like a different film. I haven't seen any 3d issues.-there is some flash lighting from the corners. I can tell a difference in blacks from my LH90 that had full local dimming backlight. (this does NOT have local dimming, unlike the 55 and 47 model 6500 listed in the table above. It's slightly annoying to me, but my wife doesn't even notice...also, I didn't point it out to her. Some things you just can't unsee. It improved as I adjusted the settings. The picture wizard is quite good.-the edge lighting is more viewable as you…
